Roy Holden ran the original Wolverhampton Table Subbuteo Club from 1965 to 1999, (although the club went through various name changes including Black Country TSC and Atletico Wolverhampton).

Roy was an extremely welcoming club host, who always met you with a big smile and taught many players of all ages and levels to play.  Roy, who was known for chewing a matchstick whilst playing, was also a fantastic player and was at the top of the Midlands table soccer scene for over 30 years.

Roy had a large collection of Subbuteo teams which were his pride and joy.  Sadly Roy passed away in 2011, but is remembered by the current Wolverhampton Table Football Club in an annual event, aptly named the Roy Holden Trophy.
